There are eight awards organised into four categories. Nominations are now open to enter the awards.
Best Region for Manufacturing Solar Technologies 
Open to engineering companies, manufacturers, investment promotion agencies, architects, turnkey providers.
Specific Judging Criteria for this category: Focus on innovative design and layout to maximise efficiencies.
Prerequisite: Regions must have at least one operating solar fab in place. New facility is defined as going operational between March 2008 and March 2010.
Manufacturing Equipment and Services Awards for the Solar industry
Open to suppliers of services, materials, and equipment to cell and thin-film manufacturers, and module assemblers.
Specific Judging Criteria for this category: The success of this technology, product or process in increasing overall efficiency of modules currently in production and extent of service network for product support.
Prerequisite: The product or service must be used in current production with two or more different manufacturers.
- Best technical product for module assembly
- Best technical product for thin-film module manufacturing
- Best process technology c-Si cell manufacturing lines
- Best technology for silicon feedstock and wafer processes
Green Solar Manufacturing Award
Open to manufacturers, suppliers, energy companies and consultants.
Specific Judging Criteria for this category: The ability of the technology or process to reduce emissions or otherwise impact positively on the environment during the solar manufacturing process.
Prerequisite: Must represent a product, process, service or installation currently being utilised.
Large-Scale Solar Installation Award
Open to energy companies, installers, project organisations and equipment suppliers.
Specific Judging Criteria for this category: The success of the installation or component in increasing power generation in large-scale facilities.
Prerequisite: Must represent a product, process, service or installation currently being utilised.
Solar Industry Choice Award
All entrants in other award categories are automatically entered in to this category.
Specific Judging Criteria for this category: Double weighting for popular vote component. Favourite technology for solar applications.
